Depends on the main Sentry SDK and makes all its features available to use.
Main features:
- Easy ASP.NET Core integration, single line:
UseSentry. - Captures unhandled exceptions in the middleware pipeline
- Captures exceptions handled by the framework
UseExceptionHandlerand Error page display. - Captures process-wide unhandled exceptions (AppDomain)
- Captures logger.Error or logger.Critical
- Any event sent will include relevant application log messages
- RequestId as tag
- URL as tag
- Environment is automatically set (IHostingEnvironment)
- Release automatically set (AssemblyInformationalVersionAttribute, AssemblyVersion or env var)
- Request payload can be captured if opt-in
- Support for EventProcessors registered with DI
- Support for ExceptionProcessors registered with DI
- Captures logs from the transaction (Microsoft.Extensions.Logging)
- Supports configuration system
- Server OS info sent
- Server Runtime info sent

- Event flooding protection (429 retry-after and internal bound queue)

Enabling
To use Sentry with your ASP.NET Core project, simply install this NuGet package and change your Program.cs by adding UseSentry:

DSN
The SDK needs to know which project within Sentry your errors should go to. That's defined via the DSN. You can provide it directly as an argument to UseSentry, defined via configuration like appsettings.json or set via environment variable SENTRY_DSN.
This sample demonstrates defining the DSN via appsettings.json.
