DiagramGenerator CLI

Turns T-SQL stored procedures into navigable Mermaid flow diagrams, via the hosted DiagramGenerator API.

Install

dotnet tool install -g BoxesNLines.DiagramGenerator.CLI

Usage

bnl-diagrams ./procs/*.sql --output ./diagrams --key dg_live_yourapikeyhere

Get an API key from /dashboard/api-keys after subscribing. The key can also be set via the BNL_DIAGRAMS_API_KEY environment variable instead of --key.

Accepts one or more .sql files, directories, or glob patterns (e.g. ./procs/*.sql) in a single run - glob patterns are expanded by the CLI itself, not the shell, so they behave the same in PowerShell/cmd.exe as in bash/zsh.

`-r, --recursive <bool>`	`true`	Search subdirectories when an input path is a directory.
`-f, --format <json\\|mermaid>`	`json`	`json` writes a full envelope (graph + Mermaid text); `mermaid` writes just the raw `.mmd` text.
`-q, --quiet`	off	Suppress informational output.
`-k, --key <key>`	—	Your API key. Falls back to `BNL_DIAGRAMS_API_KEY`.
`-s, --server <url>`	`https://diagrams.boxesnlines.com`	The DiagramGenerator server to call.
