Bytewise.Mcp — the bytewise-mcp MCP server

A local stdio MCP server that exposes Bytewise Solutions operator tooling to an AI host (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, or any Model Context Protocol client).

The load-bearing invariant

stdout carries MCP protocol frames and nothing else. Every diagnostic — including --help — goes to stderr. A single stray byte on stdout would corrupt the first frame the host reads, so the tool is built and verified against that rule: scripts/verify-mcp-tool.sh in the repository packs the tool, installs it from an isolated feed, and fails if --help writes anything at all to stdout.

Scope

The catalogue is read and triage oriented — project monitoring, crash and feedback inspection. It is deliberately not a provisioning surface: creating ingest keys, apps and read-back configuration stays in the operator console, where the actions are irreversible and want a human.

Authentication follows the same pairing/PAT model as the bytewise CLI.

0.x: the tool catalogue may still change. Every build carries its source commit in AssemblyInformationalVersion.
