Project Title

This nuget package will help you in setting up logging in your application using Log4net. This is add all the basic web.config and customized logging for your application.

Details

This package will help you in implementing any of these log4net appenders in your project :

• Console Appender
• File Appender
• Rolling File Appender

It will add all the required configuration in your web.config. By mere uncommenting the required appender(s) in configuration → log4net → root → appender-ref, application will get ready to use them. In *.cs file, after adding a reference of the Cygrp.Common.Logging.dll, you will be able to use AutoLogger.cs which contains static functions to log messages. The log message is all we need, it will capture rest of the information by itself. By default it will create the log file, in case of File and Rolling File Appender, in C:\Logs\ but you can change it by changing log4net → appender → file → value as per your convenience.

In case of Rolling File Appender, it can log upto 10MB of information by creating 10 files of 1 MB each every day. If it exceeds, just in case, it will remove the oldest log file in the system and will generate a new file.

Prerequisites

.Net Framework > = 4.5 log4net >= 2.0.8

Installing

Use command in Package Manager Console : Install-Package Cygrp.Common.Logging.Prateek -Version {version number}
