Drawspan.Client.V1

Licensing for Revit and Rhino/Grasshopper plugins on Windows. The SDK ships as one netstandard2.0 assembly with no package dependencies.

Install

dotnet add package Drawspan.Client.V1

Create a product at drawspan.app and download its vendor configuration. Compile that configuration into your plugin; it contains the service address and public signing keys, never private keys.

Integrate

Create one client for the lifetime of your plugin:

using Drawspan.Client;

var license = DrawspanLicense.Start(new DrawspanOptions
{
    ProductId = "your-product-id",
    VendorConfig = YourVendorConfig.Instance,
    HostApp = "Revit",
    HostVersion = "2026",
});

Replace the product ID and configuration class with those from your product. Before each protected command, read license.Status. Licensed and Warning permit work; Unlicensed blocks work. Display the reason and offer the recommended action. Call license.ShowResolutionUi() only after an explicit user action; browser sign-in continues automatically in the plugin.

Dispose the client when the plugin shuts down. State-change callbacks arrive on background threads, so dispatch any host UI work to the appropriate UI thread.

Package your plugin

Ship Drawspan.Client.V1.dll beside your plugin DLL or .gha. Modern .NET class-library projects need this property to copy package assemblies:

<CopyLocalLockFileAssemblies>true</CopyLocalLockFileAssemblies>

Build against the target framework required by the installed host version. Windows is required for the SDK's protected credential storage; macOS is not supported. Cached signed licences remain usable offline until their validity ends. Removing access on the server does not immediately invalidate an offline cached licence.

See the integration guide, Revit guide, and Rhino/Grasshopper guide.

Security and licence

The SDK verifies licences using vendor public keys. Private signing keys and administrative credentials do not belong in plugin builds. The SDK is not a tamper-proof boundary on a machine controlled by its user; protect server-side operations with server-side authorization.

The client SDK is MIT licensed. This package does not include or license the Drawspan server implementation.
