Ember MCP Server

Ember MCP Server is the global .NET tool used by AI clients to connect to Unity Editor projects that have the Ember ECS package installed.

Requirements

• .NET 9 SDK or Runtime.
• ~/.dotnet/tools on PATH when using the default global-tool install path.
• For GUI or non-interactive AI clients, set DOTNET_ROOT and PATH explicitly if they do not inherit your shell environment.
• A Unity project with the Ember ECS package installed and the Ember MCP Bridge running from Window > Ember > MCP.

macOS/Linux example:

Install

Install from NuGet:

dotnet tool install -g Ember.Mcp.Server

Update an existing install:

dotnet tool update -g Ember.Mcp.Server

Verify:

ember-mcp --version
ember-mcp list-instances

Client Configuration

Run as an MCP stdio server:

ember-mcp stdio

List available Unity bridge instances:

ember-mcp list-instances

The Unity package writes bridge status files while the Editor is open. The global tool discovers those instances and routes MCP requests to the selected project.
