.NET 10 Blazor FluentValidation component

This Razor class library contains a reusable <FluentValidationValidator /> component for Blazor EditForm validation with FluentValidation.

Install

Reference the library from a .NET 10 Blazor app, then register your validators:

using FluentValidation;

builder.Services.AddValidatorsFromAssemblyContaining<Program>();

AddValidatorsFromAssemblyContaining is provided by the FluentValidation.DependencyInjectionExtensions package. If you do not use that package, register each validator explicitly:

builder.Services.AddScoped<IValidator<CustomerModel>, CustomerModelValidator>();

Use

@using BlazorFluentValidationNet10.Components

<EditForm Model="@Model" OnValidSubmit="@Save">
    <FluentValidationValidator />
    <ValidationSummary />

    <InputText @bind-Value="Model.Name" />
    <ValidationMessage For="@(() => Model.Name)" />

    <button type="submit">Save</button>
</EditForm>

@code {
    private CustomerModel Model { get; } = new();

    private Task Save()
    {
        return Task.CompletedTask;
    }
}

Example validator:

using FluentValidation;

public sealed class CustomerModelValidator : AbstractValidator<CustomerModel>
{
    public CustomerModelValidator()
    {
        RuleFor(customer => customer.Name)
            .NotEmpty()
            .MaximumLength(100);
    }
}

Use rule sets when needed:

<FluentValidationValidator RuleSets='@new[] { "Create" }' />

The component validates the full model on form validation requests and validates the changed field as inputs change. Set ValidateOnFieldChange="false" to validate only on form submit.
