Configuration

In Startup.cs file in your project directory, please get OpenTelemertry configured, something like below:

services.AddOpenTelemetryTracing((builder) =>
{
    builder
        .AddAspNetCoreInstrumentation()
        .AddHttpClientInstrumentation();
});

The above would be the suffice to OpenTelemertry start capturing data from yours outboung requests.

In order to send those captured data to HossApp, you will need to tweak the above script to be something like below:

services.AddOpenTelemetryTracing((builder) =>
{
    builder
        .AddAspNetCoreInstrumentation()
        .AddHttpClientInstrumentation((options) => options.Enrich = HossEnrichProcessor.Enrich)
        .AddHossExporter((options) => options.ApiKey = "<your-api-key>");
});

in a nutshell, the above code is extending:

  1. the AddHttpClientInstrumentation by filling the Enrich function.
  2. as well as adding the HossExporter.

NOTE: Both the Enrich and the HossExporter are provided by HossApp.OpenTelemertry.Exporter package.
