IronAlpine.Caching

IronAlpine.Caching provides cache contracts, cache settings contracts, and a mediator pipeline behavior for cacheable queries.

What This Package Solves

  • Standard ICacheService abstraction for cache read/write/remove operations.
  • ICacheableQuery marker for request-level caching.
  • Cache settings contracts (ICacheSettingsProvider, ICacheSettingsService) and DTOs used by cache settings APIs.
  • CachingBehavior<TRequest,TResponse> for automatic query caching with:
    • single GetAsync read path (no extra exists roundtrip),
    • graceful fallback when distributed lock is not available,
    • safe cache read/write failure handling.

Basic Usage

  1. Reference IronAlpine.Caching.
  2. Register a concrete ICacheService (for example via IronAlpine.Caching.Redis).
  3. Register mediator pipeline behavior in your application:
cfg.AddOpenBehavior(typeof(CachingBehavior<,>));
  1. Implement ICacheableQuery on queries that should be cached.

Notes

  • CachingBehavior only caches successful Result<T> responses.
  • If IDistributedLock is not registered, behavior continues with local-only lock protection.
  • Cache settings override support is controlled via ICacheSettingsProvider.
