JTL File Upload Client

An interactive CLI tool for uploading, downloading, and deleting files to/from JTL services. Supports both OnPrem and Cloud deployments with full app registration and OAuth authentication.

Installation

Install as a global .NET tool:

dotnet tool install --global JTL.FileUploadClient

Or as a local tool:

dotnet new tool-manifest
dotnet tool install --local JTL.FileUploadClient

Quick Start

Simply run:

uploader

The tool will guide you through the process interactively.

What You Can Do

  • Upload files - Multi-file upload with progress tracking
  • Download files - Download files by Blob-ID
  • Delete files - Remove files with confirmation
  • Manage credentials - Securely store and manage API keys and tokens
  • Support OnPrem & Cloud - Works with both deployment types

Deployment Modes

OnPrem (JTL-Wawi)

For local JTL-Wawi installations:

  1. First-time setup:

    • Open JTL-Wawi (new interface)
    • Go to Admin → App Registration
    • Start registration process
    • Run uploader and select "Register New App"
    • Approve in JTL-Wawi
    • Done! API key is saved automatically
  2. Connection details:

    • Host: localhost (default)
    • Port: 5883 (default)
    • Mandant: eazybusiness (default)

Cloud (JTL-Cloud)

For JTL-Cloud environments:

  1. Select environment: Prod, Beta, QA, or Dev
  2. Authenticate: Via browser (OAuth) or Machine-to-Machine credentials
  3. Enter Tenant ID: Your JTL-Cloud tenant identifier
  4. Done! Tokens are cached for future use

Available environments:

  • Prod: https://api.jtl-cloud.com/erp/
  • Beta: https://api.beta.jtl-cloud.com/erp/
  • QA: https://api.qa.jtl-cloud.com/erp/
  • Dev: https://api.dev.jtl-cloud.com/erp/

File Operations

Upload Files

  1. Select "Upload files"
  2. Choose OnPrem or Cloud
  3. Select Destination Type (e.g., article, order, customer)
  4. Enter Destination Key (ID of the target object)
  5. Add one or more files
  6. Confirm upload
  7. Save the Blob-IDs for later downloads/deletes

Download File

  1. Select "Download file"
  2. Choose OnPrem or Cloud
  3. Enter the Blob-ID of the file
  4. Choose destination folder
  5. Done!

Delete File

  1. Select "Delete file"
  2. Choose OnPrem or Cloud
  3. Enter Blob-ID, Destination Type, and Destination Key
  4. Confirm deletion
  5. Done!

Data Storage

Your credentials are stored securely on your computer at:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\JTL-FileUploadClient\
  • OnPrem: API keys encrypted with Windows DPAPI
  • Cloud: OAuth tokens and M2M credentials encrypted with DPAPI
  • Tenants: Stored in plain JSON (no sensitive data)

All sensitive data is only accessible by your Windows user account.

Requirements

  • Windows operating system
  • .NET 10.0 or higher
  • For OnPrem: JTL-Wawi with REST API enabled
  • For Cloud: Valid JTL-Cloud account and tenant
