PenIt - a screen zoom & annotate tool

A lightweight WPF application inspired by ZoomIt.
It allows you to zoom into the screen and draw annotations using either the mouse or a digital pen.

Getting Started

Minimum requirement Windows 10.0.26100.0 on x64 or arm64.

1. Download the executable from the release page.
   • With .NET Runtime download the executable (.exe) from the release page.
   • Without .NET Runtime download the (.zip) from the release page and unzip it.
2. Run the application — no installation required.
3. Use the shortcuts above to zoom and annotate.

Usage

• CTRL + W → Zoom into the current cursor position
• CTRL + Pen top button → Zoom into the current cursor position
• ESC → Exit zoom mode
• Pen top button → Exit zoom mode
• While zoomed:
  • Move around by moving the mouse or pen across the screen
  • Left mouse click / Pen tap → Draw on the screen
  • Pen side button + tap → Switch to yellow highlight style

Technology

• Built with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
• Designed for Windows 11 with pen and stylus support
• Inspired by Sysinternals ZoomIt, but simplified for custom workflows

Notes

• This tool is intended for presentations, demos, and quick on‑screen annotations.
• It does not permanently modify your screen content — drawings disappear when you exit zoom mode.
