LibreIdentityServer

LibreIdentityServer is a Mobwiz-maintained fork of IdentityServer4 for OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0 on ASP.NET Core.

This project exists to keep a legal, transparent, and community-friendly continuation path for applications that still depend on the IdentityServer4 programming model.

Project status

LibreIdentityServer is not an official continuation of IdentityServer4, Duende IdentityServer, or any .NET Foundation project. It is derived from the Apache-2.0 licensed IdentityServer4 codebase.

Compatibility strategy

The first LibreIdentityServer releases keep the existing IdentityServer4.* namespaces and assembly names to make migration from IdentityServer4 as small as possible. Most applications should only need to replace NuGet package references.

Future major releases may introduce LibreIdentityServer.* namespaces and assembly names after a documented migration path exists.
