Menchul.Wikipedia.DB.Importer

Console tool that imports JSON reference data (languages, currencies, countries, subdivisions) produced by Menchul.WikipediaGrabber into a database using the Menchul.Wikipedia.DB model.

Input

Expects a data folder containing JSON files:

  • Languages.json
  • Currencies.json
  • Countries.json

Use Menchul.WikipediaGrabber to generate these files from Wikipedia.

Configuration

  • Connection string: set MenchulWikipedia_DBConnection in configuration or environment, or pass --connection "Host=...;Database=...;Username=...;Password=..." when running.
  • Data folder: set AppSettings:DataFolder to the path containing the JSON files.

Usage

Run the application; it will ensure the database exists, then load and upsert all entities from the JSON files. Duplicate symbols (currencies) and duplicate country-subdivision keys are handled with warnings.

  • Newtonsoft.Json
