MuxVideoUpload.Maui
Upload videos directly to Mux from .NET MAUI apps (iOS and Android). No backend required: your app passes Mux credentials and a local file path; the library fetches a signed upload URL, uploads the file, and returns the playback URL.
The library has no default or hardcoded credentials. You must pass your Mux Access Token ID and Token Secret from your app (e.g. from secure config or user settings).
Installation
dotnet add package MuxVideoUpload.Maui
Or add a project reference to the library project.
Usage
Get your Mux Access Token ID and Token Secret from the Mux dashboard (Settings → Access Tokens). Pass these from your app—do not hardcode them in production.
Create a service and call
UploadAsyncwith the file path and credentials:
using MuxVideoUpload.Maui;
var service = new MuxUploadService();
// Credentials must be provided by your app (e.g. from secure storage or config).
string accessTokenId = "YOUR_MUX_TOKEN_ID";
string accessTokenSecret = "YOUR_MUX_TOKEN_SECRET";
string videoPath = "/path/to/video.mp4"; // e.g. from device picker or camera
try
{
// Default: playback URL without .m3u8
string playbackUrl = await service.UploadAsync(
accessTokenId,
accessTokenSecret,
videoPath);
// Or with .m3u8 in the URL (optional parameter, default is false)
string playbackUrlWithM3u8 = await service.UploadAsync(
accessTokenId,
accessTokenSecret,
videoPath,
includeM3u8InPlaybackUrl: true);
// Use playbackUrl in your player (e.g. MediaElement, or https://stream.mux.com/...)
}
catch (MuxUploadException ex)
{
// Handle upload or API errors
}
Optional: use your own HttpClient
var httpClient = new HttpClient();
// Configure timeouts, handlers, etc. if needed.
var service = new MuxUploadService(httpClient);
