Reads feature flags from Azure App Configuration with thread-safe in-process caching and on-demand refresh.

How It Works

The provider reads feature flags from the .appconfig.featureflag/ namespace in IConfiguration. Flags are cached in-process for CacheDurationSeconds seconds. All reads are thread-safe (double-checked locking). Call RefreshAsync() to force an immediate reload.

Prerequisites

  • An Azure App Configuration store with feature flags enabled
  • Either a connection string or a correctly scoped managed identity
  • Microsoft.Extensions.Configuration.AzureAppConfiguration wired in Program.cs
