Ripteq.Ledger.Client.Functions

Azure Functions isolated-worker middleware for Ripteq Ledger. Register it once and every invocation reports a run, with no per-function code.

Install

dotnet add package Ripteq.Ledger.Client.Functions

This brings in Ripteq.Ledger.Client at the same version. The two are always released together.

Use it

var builder = FunctionsApplication.CreateBuilder(args);

builder.Services.AddLedgerClient(o =>
{
    o.BaseAddress = builder.Configuration["Ledger:BaseAddress"];
    o.ApiKey      = builder.Configuration["Ledger:ApiKey"] ?? "";
});

builder.UseLedger();

builder.Build().Run();

What it reports

Ledger field Comes from
functionKey FunctionDefinition.Name, with FunctionKeyPrefix in front. FunctionKeySelector replaces the rule
externalRunId FunctionContext.InvocationId
triggerType The input binding: timerTriggerTimer, queueTrigger and serviceBusTriggerQueue, httpTriggerHttp, anything else → Unknown
outcome No exception → Success, OperationCanceledExceptionCancelled, anything else → Failure with the message

The Functions host repeats InvocationId when it retries an invocation, so Ledger's repeat-run rule gives duplicate suppression for free.

An exception is always rethrown. Your retry and poison-queue behaviour does not change because Ledger is watching.

Leave a function out

builder.UseLedger(o =>
{
    o.ExcludedFunctions.Add("HealthCheck");
    o.FunctionKeyPrefix = "tm.exports.";
});

An excluded function reports nothing at all.
