TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore 0.1.0-preview.4

This is a prerelease version of TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore.
dotnet add package TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore --version 0.1.0-preview.4

NuGet\Install-Package TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore -Version 0.1.0-preview.4

This command is intended to be used within the Package Manager Console in Visual Studio, as it uses the NuGet module's version of Install-Package.

TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore

TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore provides provider-independent EF Core infrastructure for TCJ applications, including repositories, specifications, Unit of Work, auditing, soft delete, ordered/idempotent seeding, entity metadata, health integration, and transactional-outbox persistence components.

Install

dotnet add package TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore --prerelease

TCJ Framework is currently pre-1.0. Pin the exact preview version used by your application when reproducibility matters.

Highlights

  • Repository and specification abstractions over EF Core.
  • Unit of Work and transaction boundaries without hidden SaveChanges calls.
  • Auditing and explicit soft-delete behavior.
  • Ordered, idempotent data seeding support.
  • Provider-independent health and startup-diagnostic integration.
  • Transactional-outbox persistence and processing infrastructure.
  • Explicit provider-neutral Strong ID conversion registration for generated Guid, int, and long IDs.
  • Explicit provider-neutral Value Object conversion registration for generated string, Guid, int, long, and decimal Value Objects.
  • Experimental Native AOT support following EF Core's compiled-model/query-precompilation constraints.

Example

using TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore.Extensions;

services.AddTcjEntityFrameworkCore<AppDbContext>(options =>
    options.UseInMemoryDatabase("app"));

Production applications should configure the EF Core provider appropriate to their environment. SQL Server-specific registration is provided by TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore.SqlServer.

Generated Strong IDs can be registered without assembly scanning:

using TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore.Extensions;
using TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore.StrongTypes;

var strongIds = new StrongIdConversionRegistry()
    .Register<OrderId, Guid>(
        OrderId.StrongIdConversion.ToBackingValue,
        OrderId.StrongIdConversion.FromBackingValue);

modelBuilder.ApplyStrongIdConversions(strongIds);

The generated expressions themselves are EF-independent; only the consuming persistence project needs TCJ.EntityFrameworkCore.

Generated Value Objects use the same explicit pattern:

var valueObjects = new ValueObjectConversionRegistry()
    .Register<EmailAddress, string>(
        EmailAddress.ValueObjectConversion.ToBackingValue,
        EmailAddress.ValueObjectConversion.FromBackingValue)
    .Register<MoneyAmount, decimal>(
        MoneyAmount.ValueObjectConversion.ToBackingValue,
        MoneyAmount.ValueObjectConversion.FromBackingValue);

modelBuilder.ApplyValueObjectConversions(valueObjects);

Value Objects persist as primitive columns and materialize through their generated validated Create path. Invalid legacy rows fail without exposing the rejected scalar or validation details; TCJ does not silently bypass validation or rewrite stored data.
