SkyNet Framework
Server-driven web framework for ASP.NET Core / .NET 10.
Write each page as a C# class plus its HTML, CSS and plain JavaScript. The browser posts to your C# method, the method returns an ApiResponse, and the page updates in place without a reload. No SPA, no front-end build.
Install
Install-Package TheSkyLite.SkyNet
or
dotnet add package TheSkyLite.SkyNet
Microsoft.Data.SqlClient and System.Drawing.Common are installed automatically.
Quick start
The easiest way to start is the project template, which already has the folders and Program.cs set up:
https://github.com/hkim6000/ASPNETCoreEmpty.SkyNet
Manual setup
- Create an empty ASP.NET Core web project (.NET 10).
- Install the package.
- Disable hot reload in
Properties/launchSettings.json("hotReloadEnabled": falsein your profile). - Add the folders:
appConfig,codes,htmls,scripts,styles,images,data,logs,temp. - Add
appConfig/application.cfgwith the folder names. - Set up
Program.cs:
using SkyNet;
var builder = WebApplication.CreateBuilder(args);
builder.Services.AddHttpContextAccessor();
var app = builder.Build();
app.UseMiddleware<IHandler>();
app.UseStaticHttpCurrent();
app.Run();
Hello World
A page is four files with the same name.
codes/HelloWorld.cs
using SkyNet;
public class HelloWorld : WebPage
{
public override async Task OnInitialized()
{
HtmlDoc.SetTitle("Hello World");
await Task.CompletedTask;
}
public ApiResponse SayHi()
{
ApiResponse response = new ApiResponse();
string name = GetDataValue("name");
response.SetElementContents("hw-text", "Hello World, Hi " + HtmlEncode(name) + ".");
return response;
}
}
htmls/HelloWorld.html
<div class="hw-wrap">
<h1 class="hw-text" id="hw-text">Hello World</h1>
<button class="hw-btn" onclick="HelloWorldJs.sayHi()">Say Hi</button>
</div>
scripts/HelloWorld.js
var HelloWorldJs = (function () {
function sayHi() {
$ApiRequest('HelloWorld/SayHi', JSON.stringify([{ key: 'name', vlu: 'Tom' }]));
}
return { sayHi: function () { sayHi(); } };
})();
styles/HelloWorld.css holds the page styles.
Run the app, open /HelloWorld (for example localhost:5000/HelloWorld) and click Say Hi.
