Uniform.Logging.Seq

Seq structured logging provider for the Uniform microservice framework. Automatically enriches every log entry with message metadata (ConversationId, MessageId, sending service, environment) sourced from the active HandleContext.

Installation

Setup

Add SeqLoggingModule when bootstrapping your service:

Configuration

Key Description
Uniform:Logging:Seq:Url Seq ingestion URL, e.g. http://localhost:5341
Uniform:ServiceName Included as a property on every log event
Uniform:Environment Included as a property on every log event

Enrichment

Every log event is automatically enriched with:

  • ConversationId — traces a chain of related messages end-to-end
  • MessageId — unique identifier for the current message
  • SendingService / OriginService — where the message came from
  • ServiceName — the name of the current service
  • Environment — the current deployment environment

This makes it straightforward to filter Seq by conversation or trace a message through multiple services.
