GenerationModel uses DashScope's native text-generation endpoint and supports streaming text, reasoning, function calls, usage, native sampling options, workspace endpoints, and web search.

Choose the adapter that matches the API route accepted by the model:

  • GenerationModel — native text-generation/generation for text-generation models.
  • MultimodalGenerationModel — native multimodal-generation/generation for Qwen vision/audio and unified multimodal models such as qwen3.8-flash; accepts text, image, audio, and video blocks.
  • ChatCompletionsModel — DashScope's OpenAI-compatible chat/completions route.
  • ResponsesModel — DashScope's OpenAI-compatible responses route, including reasoning and function-call item streams.
  • MessagesModel — DashScope's Anthropic-compatible v1/messages route.

All five adapters preserve streamed text, reasoning, fragmented function calls, stop reasons, usage, and tool-call identity across an engine tool round trip. Region and billing-plan endpoints must match the API key. Native /api/v1 endpoints passed to compatibility adapters are converted to the corresponding compatibility path automatically.

The former Model name is obsolete and remains available as a compatibility wrapper until the next major release.
