WalFlow.Stores.DynamoDb

Amazon DynamoDB-backed IReplicationStore for WalFlow.
Stores ReplicationState entries in a single table keyed by slot name.

Install

dotnet add package WalFlow.Stores.DynamoDb

Configuration

{
  "DynamoDbStore": {
    "TableName": "walflow_state",
    "Region": "us-east-1",
    "AutoCreateTable": true
  }
}

For LocalStack or DynamoDB Local:

{
  "DynamoDbStore": {
    "TableName": "walflow_state",
    "ServiceUrl": "http://localhost:4566",
    "Authentication": {
      "AccessKeyId": "test",
      "SecretAccessKey": "test"
    },
    "AutoCreateTable": true
  }
}

Settings

Setting Type Default Supported values Notes
TableName string "walflow_state" valid DynamoDB table name Table used for replication state
Region string? null AWS region system name (for example us-east-1) Optional when using service URL/default chain
ServiceUrl string? null endpoint URL For LocalStack or DynamoDB Local
Authentication AwsAuthenticationOptions {} object Preferred auth container
Authentication.AccessKeyId string? null AWS access key id Use with Authentication.SecretAccessKey for explicit credentials
Authentication.SecretAccessKey string? null AWS secret access key Use with Authentication.AccessKeyId
Authentication.ProfileName string? null AWS shared profile name Used when explicit keys are not set
AutoCreateTable bool true true, false Create table automatically when missing
SlotKeyAttributeName string "slot_name" any valid DynamoDB attribute name Partition key attribute
StateJsonAttributeName string "state_json" any valid DynamoDB attribute name JSON payload attribute
UpdatedAtAttributeName string "updated_at" any valid DynamoDB attribute name Updated timestamp attribute

AWS Authentication

The store supports all three auth methods:

  1. Explicit credentials via Authentication.AccessKeyId + Authentication.SecretAccessKey
  2. Shared profile via Authentication.ProfileName
  3. Default AWS credential chain when no auth fields are set

Resolution order is: explicit keys → profile → default chain.

Example: profile-based auth

{
  "DynamoDbStore": {
    "TableName": "walflow_state",
    "Region": "us-east-1",
    "Authentication": {
      "ProfileName": "walflow-prod"
    }
  }
}

Example: default credentials

{
  "DynamoDbStore": {
    "TableName": "walflow_state",
    "Region": "us-east-1"
  }
}

Usage

services.Configure<DynamoDbStoreOptions>(
    configuration.GetSection(DynamoDbStoreOptions.SectionName));

services.AddSingleton<IReplicationStore, DynamoDbStore>();

Inline DI Registration

services.AddSingleton<IReplicationStore>(sp =>
{
    var options = Options.Create(new DynamoDbStoreOptions
    {
        TableName = "walflow_state",
        Region = "us-east-1",
        AutoCreateTable = true
    });

    return new DynamoDbStore(
        options,
        sp.GetRequiredService<ILogger<DynamoDbStore>>());
});

Notes

  • Supports region, profile, explicit credentials, and custom service URL.
  • AutoCreateTable can provision the table when missing.
  • Attribute names are configurable for integration with existing tables.
