Xfs351.Settings

Xfs351.Settings is a WPF library that adds an editable device-configuration window to a Windows monitoring application. Its NuGet package contains both Xfs351.Settings.dll and the Xfs351.dll core library, plus the core library's CentralLogger.Client dependency. It reads and updates the application's existing devices.json file and discovers installed XFS logical services under HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\XFS\LOGICAL_SERVICES.

The editor lists configured devices and their complete settings, along with global runtime and monitoring options. For the selected device it filters registered logical services by the service class declared in each registry key's Class value. Assigning one writes the registry key name to logicalName and its Provider value to serviceProviderName. Multi-class values such as BCR,PTR,CHK are supported.

Install

The package targets net10.0-windows and requires a WPF application. Install the NuGet package:

dotnet add package Xfs351.Settings

For local testing before publishing, pass the folder containing the generated .nupkg to dotnet add package with --source.

Open the editor

Call the public entry point from the WPF UI thread and pass the path your monitoring app uses:

using Xfs351.Settings;

private void OpenDeviceSettings()
{
    XfsSettingsEditor.ShowDialog("C:\\ProgramData\\MyMonitor\\devices.json", this);
}

The owner argument is optional. Saving validates the resulting file with the Xfs351 configuration loader and keeps the previous file in a .bak copy. The editor retains unknown JSON properties when it loads and saves the configuration, so fields introduced by a newer schema are preserved.

Package documentation

The package includes the compiled settings and Xfs351 libraries under lib/. It also carries the example application and test project build outputs under tools/solution/ for inspection or extraction; these are not added as references to consuming applications.

The package includes these documents under docs/:

  • The Xfs351 library README and design document.
  • The example application's README.
  • The checked-in CEN/XFS specification Markdown and PDF files.

This settings project README is also exposed as the NuGet package README.
