ZplCore.Designer

Embeddable WYSIWYG label editor for ASP.NET Core, rendered with the zplCore.com engine. Design JSON + data JSON in, ZPL / PDF / PNG / SVG out. No printing, no storage: your application keeps the design.

builder.Services.AddZplCoreDesigner(o =>
{
    o.Fonts.AddDirectory("fonts");                  // your TTF/OTF printer fonts (E:NAME.TTF)
    o.PrinterGraphics.AddDirectory("graphics");     // your printer-memory graphics (E:NAME.GRF)
    o.Limits.MaxRecordsPerRequest = 500;
    o.Limits.MaxConcurrentRenders = Environment.ProcessorCount;
});

app.MapZplCoreDesigner("/designer")
   .RequireAuthorization("label-editors"); // your auth – the designer brings none of its own
  • The API needs an authenticated user of your app; open it only explicitly with o.AllowAnonymous = true
  • Editor UI: /designer/ (embed it in an iframe), server options for it: /designer/config.json, health: /designer/healthz
  • Render API: /designer/api/… (OpenAPI: /designer/api/openapi/zplcore-designer.json)
  • Extension points: IFontProvider, IPrinterGraphicsProvider, IIconProvider, ITemplateProvider, IRenderObserver, IDesignerAuthorization, IDesignerLicenseValidator
  • Metrics: meter ZplCore.Designer (System.Diagnostics.Metrics)

Every request is self-contained; nothing is stored on the server.

Licence key: the Designer needs a key with the product "Designer" and an SDK licence of the same or a higher type, checked offline (no phone-home). Set o.License, the environment variable ZPLCORE_LICENSE (container: -e ZPLCORE_LICENSE=…, Helm: license.existingSecret) or ZplCoreLicense.Register(key). Without one the Designer runs in evaluation mode: previews and outputs carry a "zplCore.com TRIAL" watermark. Every API response reports the state in the header X-ZplCore-License.
