AsarSharp - Electron Archive Tool (.NET Implementation)

A .NET implementation of the Electron ASAR (Electron Archive) format, fully compatible with the original Node.js implementation.

Features

  • Support random access
  • Use JSON to store files' information
  • Compatible with Node.js asar format
  • Cross-platform support
  • SHA256 integrity verification

Installation

As a Library

dotnet add package AsarSharp

Programmatic Usage

using AsarSharp;

// Create an archive
await Asar.CreatePackageAsync("./app", "app.asar");

// Extract an archive
await Asar.ExtractAllAsync("app.asar", "extracted");

// List files
var files = Asar.ListFiles();
foreach (var file in files)
{
    Console.WriteLine(file);
}

Format Compatibility

This implementation maintains full compatibility with the original Node.js asar format:

| UInt32: header_size | String: header | Bytes: file1 | ... | Bytes: file42 |

The header is a JSON string containing file information, and the format is identical to the Node.js implementation.
