ATDD Accelerator CLI

The ATDD Accelerator CLI helps you setup your ATDD Sandbox Project as part of the ATDD Accelerator Program.

Requirements

You are required to have the following:

dotnet --version
git --version
gh --version
docker --version

Installation

Install as a global .NET tool:

dotnet tool install -g atdd-accelerator-cli

Check it's installed:

atdd --version

To update the version:

dotnet tool update --global atdd-accelerator-cli

Usage

Generate a new monorepo:

atdd generate monorepo --repository-owner <REPOSITORY_OWNER> --repository-name <REPOSITORY_NAME> --system-language <SYSTEM_LANGUAGE> --system-test-language <SYSTEM_TEST_LANGUAGE>

Options:

  • --repository-owner: Your GitHub username or organization name, which is the owner of the new repository
  • --repository-name: Unique name for the new repository
  • --system-language: Language for source code (java, dotnet, typescript)
  • --system-test-language: Language for system tests (java, dotnet, typescript)

Regarding the repository owner, if you're creating the repository under your personal account, then you would use your GitHub username. If you're creating the repository under an organization, then you would use the organization name.

Examples

Generate a monorepo for an eshop project, whereby the System will be implemented in Java, whilst System Tests will be implemented with TypeScipt:

atdd generate monorepo --repository-owner jsmith --repository-name eshop --system-language java --system-test-language typescript

Generate a monorepo for an eshop project, whereby both the System and System Tests will be implemented in .NET:

atdd generate monorepo --repository-owner jsmith --repository-name eshop --system-language dotnet --system-test-language dotnet

As you can see, the choice of language for your System versus System Tests is flexible, you can choose the same language or different languages.
