Console Helpers

Console Helpers is a simple library for .NET Console Apps, consisting of static methods for easily prompting a user and parse their response to a .NET type. Custom prompt and error messages may be provided, or the defaults can be used. The method will prompt the user, wait for input, and repeat until a valid input is provided. Then it will return the appropriate type.

Usage

using ConsoleHelpers;

int userProvidedInt = Parsers.GetInt("Please enter a whole number.", "That was not a valid number.");
double userProvidedDouble = Parsers.GetDouble("Please enter a number.", "That was not a valid number.");
decimal userProvidedDecimal = Parsers.GetDecimal("Please enter a number.", "That was not a valid number.");
DateTime userProvidedDate = Parsers.GetDateTime("Please enter a date.", "That was not a valid date.");
bool userProvidedBool = Parsers.GetBool("Please enter 'Yes' or 'No'.", "That was not a valid response.");
