Brutal Numerics
Core numeric value types for the BRUTAL framework.
Brutal Numerics provides the lowercase vector, matrix, quaternion, plane and rect value types (float2..float4, float4x4, doubleQuat, and so on) that the rest of BRUTAL is built on, shaped for interop and SIMD-friendly packing. It is distinct from Ahwoo.BRUTAL.Maths, the math library that operates on these types. This package was previously published as RocketWerkz.Brutal.Core.Numerics from the brutal.core repository; its full history moved here with it.

For Users
Prerequisites
- .NET SDK (version 10.0 or later)
Installation
To install the package via NuGet, run the following command in your project directory:
dotnet add package Ahwoo.BRUTAL.Numerics
Usage
Please refer to the BRUTAL Documentation for more detailed usage instructions and examples. The package README in src/Brutal.Numerics/README.md is the full design and usage guide.
For Developers
Prerequisites
Compilation and Testing
To build the solution locally, run the following command in the repository root:
just build
To run the tests, run the following command in the repository root:
just test
To run the benchmarks:
just bench
The vector, matrix, quaternion and plane sources are generated from the T4 templates under src/Brutal.Numerics/Templates; after editing a template, run just regen-t4 and commit the regenerated .gen.cs files. The numerics meta-tooling (SIMD registry capture, hardware census, IL-size audit, JIT-disasm probes) is exposed as just numerics::<recipe>; see src/Brutal.Numerics/.justfile.
