AutoPost.Testing

Fakes and test helpers for the AutoPost SDK: in-memory HTTP handler for the API client, and Bogus-based fakers for request/message data. Use in unit and integration tests to avoid hitting real providers or APIs.

Installation

dotnet add package AutoPost.Testing

Usage

Fake HTTP handler (when using AutoPost.Client)

var handler = new FakeHttpMessageHandler();
handler.SetResponse(HttpStatusCode.OK, new SendResponse { /* ... */ });
// Register HttpClient with handler, then test IAutoPostApiClient

Fake email provider (in-process sending)

Implement IEmailProvider in tests and capture sent messages:

public class FakeEmailProvider : IEmailProvider
{
    public string Name => "fake";
    public List<SendEmailRequest> Sent { get; } = new();
    public Task<SendResult> SendAsync(SendEmailRequest request, CancellationToken ct = default)
    {
        Sent.Add(request);
        return Task.FromResult(new SendResult(true, Name));
    }
}

Register it instead of SMTP/Resend in tests so no real email is sent.

Fakers (Bogus)

  • EmailMessageFaker — realistic EmailMessage for tests
  • SendEmailRequestFaker — realistic SendEmailRequest for tests

Use in tests to generate many variants without hand-written data.

  • AutoPost.Abstractions — contracts
  • AutoPost — facade
  • AutoPost.Client — HTTP client (when testing API client path)
