CopperSkin
CopperSkin is a reusable WPF theming platform for runtime theme switching, standard and custom controls, custom window chrome, semantic dialogs, notification-area integration, graphics rendering, and typed theme-pack tooling.
Install
dotnet add package CopperSkin.Core --version 0.4.0.2
dotnet add package CopperSkin.Wpf --version 0.4.0.2
NuGet version 0.4.0.2 contains assembly/file/informational version 0.4.0.2. The Git tag and theme compatibility version are also v0.4.0.2 and 0.4.0.2 respectively.
CopperSkin.Core is renderer-neutral and targets netstandard2.0 plus .NET 7, 8, 9, and 10. CopperSkin.Wpf adds Windows WPF resources, controls, dialogs, window chrome, rendering, and notification-area APIs for .NET 7 through 10.
Quick start
Install the built-in theme during WPF application startup:
using CopperSkin.Core.Theming;
using CopperSkin.Wpf;
var manager = CopperSkinApp.Use(Application.Current)
.Pack(BuiltInThemeCatalog.Create())
.Theme("Neon Studio")
.Install();
For resources that must also load in the XAML designer, merge the resource dictionary directly:
<Application
x:Class="MyApp.App"
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
xmlns:copper="clr-namespace:CopperSkin.Wpf;assembly=CopperSkin.Wpf">
<Application.Resources>
<ResourceDictionary>
<ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries>
<copper:CopperSkinThemeResources Theme="Neon Studio" />
</ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries>
</ResourceDictionary>
</Application.Resources>
</Application>
New .cskn theme archives are deterministic CSKNLZ4 version 1 containers with maximum LZ4-HC compression. Legacy ZIP-backed packs remain readable for migration, but CopperSkin never writes them.
The WPF package includes semantic CopperDialog requests, exact-result CopperMessageBox and CopperTaskDialog adapters, five dedicated custom controls, detached themed menus, and CopperNotificationAreaIcon. Custom notification popups do not enter Windows Notification Center; application code remains responsible for notification content, privacy, commands, and icon lifetime.
