FluentSystemIcons.WinUI
A simple, lightweight, and high-performance library to easily use Microsoft's complete Fluent System Icons set in your WinUI 3 applications (Windows App SDK).
Forget searching for Unicode hex codes. Start using semantic names and strongly-typed C# constants for your icons.
Features
- Complete Icon Set: Access thousands of icons from the official Microsoft Fluent System Icons catalog.
- Multiple Styles: Full support for Regular, Filled, Light, and Resizable variants.
- Strongly Typed: Use C# constants with full IntelliSense support and compile-time safety.
- Optimized for WinUI 3: Designed for high-performance rendering using
{x:Bind}. - Easy Setup: Single NuGet package with embedded TrueType fonts (
.ttf) and XAML resource dictionaries.
Installation
Install the package via the NuGet Package Manager console:
Install-Package FluentSystemIcons.WinUI
Or via .NET CLI:
dotnet add package FluentSystemIcons.WinUI
Quick Start Guide
1. Register Resources in App.xaml
Merge the library's resource dictionary into your application's App.xaml to load font families globally:
<Application
x:Class="MyApp.App"
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml">
<Application.Resources>
<ResourceDictionary>
<ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries>
<XamlControlsResources xmlns="using:Microsoft.UI.Xaml.Controls" />
<ResourceDictionary Source="ms-appx:///FluentSystemIcons.WinUI/Resources/FluentIcons.xaml"/>
</ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries>
</ResourceDictionary>
</Application.Resources>
</Application>
2. Use in XAML Markup
Add the symbols namespace to your XAML page and use FontIcon with compiled bindings ({x:Bind}):
<Page
x:Class="MyApp.MainPage"
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
xmlns:symbols="using:FluentSystemIcons">
<StackPanel Spacing="16" Orientation="Horizontal">
<FontIcon FontFamily="{StaticResource FluentIconsRegular}"
Glyph="{x:Bind symbols:FluentSystemIconsRegular.Accessibility24, Mode=OneTime}"
FontSize="48"/>
<FontIcon FontFamily="{StaticResource FluentIconsFilled}"
Glyph="{x:Bind symbols:FluentSystemIconsFilled.Accessibility24, Mode=OneTime}"
FontSize="48"/>
</StackPanel>
</Page>
