Oracle.ManagedDataAccess.DependencyInjection 23.26.400
Release Notes for Oracle Data Provider for .NET Extension for Dependency Injection NuGet Package
October 2026
This NuGet package integrates ODP.NET Core with the .NET dependency injection framework, enabling ODP.NET Core services to be registered and resolved through the dependency injection container.
This document provides information that supplements the Oracle Data Provider for .NET (ODP.NET) documentation.

New Features
- End-user security context support for ASP.NET Core applications using the current authenticated request.
- Automatically resolves end-user token, fetches database access token and propagates configured or claim-based data roles and context attributes to the database.
Usage
Register the provider during ASP.NET Core application startup:
using Oracle.ManagedDataAccess.DependencyInjection.EndUserSecurityContext;
builder.Services.AddOracleEndUserSecurityContextProvider(builder.Configuration);
Configure the provider under Oracle.ManagedDataAccess:EndUserSecurityContext:
{
"Oracle.ManagedDataAccess": {
"EndUserSecurityContext": {
"TokenUri": "<OAuth token endpoint>",
"GrantType": "client_credentials",
"ClientId": "<OAuth client ID>",
"ClientSecret": "<OAuth client secret>",
"Scope": "<database access scope>"
}
}
}
Code Sample
After registration, an authenticated request can use ODP.NET normally:
await using var connection = new OracleConnection(connectionString);
await connection.OpenAsync();
await using var command = connection.CreateCommand();
command.CommandText = "SELECT ...";
await using var reader = await command.ExecuteReaderAsync();
When the command executes, ODPC implicitly builds the end-user security context from the authenticated request and attaches it to the database RPC. The application does not need to create or set an OracleEndUserSecurityContext explicitly.
