Small helper class to set the property null even if its an array. This helper was designed to help myself to avoid the self-referencing loop error in my EF Core Entity. This will also help to avoid writing the

MyEntityDbSet.Select( n => new { n.p1, n.p2 })

to avoid the self-referencing error just to exclude one property. So, I decided to write small helper which will exclude the property with easy expression builder.

Cases:

Case 1: Exclude only property without any array (this will set the Prop3 to null)

myObject.Exclude(n => n.Prop1.Prop2.Prop3);

Case 2: Exclude property with 1 array (this will set the Prop3 to null in each array item)

myObject.Exclude(n => n.Prop1.ArrProp1.Explode().Prop3);

Case 3: Exclude property with 2 nested arrays (this will set the Prop4 to null in each array item followed by ArrProp3)

myObject.Exclude(n => n.Prop1.ArrProp2.Explode().ArrProp3.Explode().Prop4);

Case 4: EF GetAll Query With Includes (this will set the Prop3 to null which was causing the self-referencing error)

var query = cs.GetAll("NavigationalProp1", "NavigationalProp1.Prop2").ToArray();
query.Exclude(n => n.Explode().NavigationalProp1.Explode().Prop2.Prop3);
return query;

Please use Explode() method with Array or ICollection property this will give you the properties inside its array type class.
