4.0.1
No change in API or behavior. This release raises the dependency floor, so that a new install gets
SodaFlow.Bindable.ObjectModel.Core 4.0.1, which lets a bindable be built from a looped cell. That package's notes have
the details.
NuGet resolves the lowest version a range allows, so a fresh install of 4.0.0 would go on resolving core 4.0.0. A
consumer who references the core package directly gets the fix either way.
The floor on SodaFlow.FSharp moves up from 5.0.0 to 5.0.1, the version already released.
4.0.0
BREAKING: the functions of the Bindable module are gone - oneWay, twoWay, twoWayCS, oneWayToSource, oneWayToSourceCS,
toBindableAction and each of their WithComparer, WithScheduler, WithValue, AndIsEnabledCell and other forms. A bindable
comes from an IBindableFactory, and from nothing else: ToOneWay, ToTwoWay, ToOneWayToSource and ToBindableAction take
the same arguments, less the scheduler. Each function that took a scheduler let a view model pass one different from the
one it was given, and each one that did not let the bindable find one for itself.
Adds ToBindableOptionAction to IBindableFactory, the command whose CommandParameter can be null, a 'T, or a 'T option.
Only the removed toBindableActionWithOptionalValue functions built it before.
BREAKING: BindableFactory takes a scheduler, where the scheduler was optional, and throws ArgumentNullException for
null. Build one factory at startup, on the UI thread:
BindableFactory (SynchronizationContextBindingScheduler.Capture ())
and give it to each view model. A test gives BindingScheduler.Immediate. SodaFlow.Bindable.ObjectModel.Core's notes say
why there is no fallback now.
Requires SodaFlow.FSharp 5.x and SodaFlow.Bindable.ObjectModel.Core 4.x. SodaFlow.FSharp 5.0.0 has breaking changes of
its own - listenOnce is weak now, among others - and its notes list them.
3.0.2
Adds the package icon that nuget.org shows beside this package. No source file changed since 3.0.1.
Every package here ships this release together, so the dependency versions move with it.
3.0.1
No code change. This release exists to move a dependency floor, so that a new install gets the fix in
SodaFlow.Bindable.ObjectModel.Core 3.0.1.
A two-way bindable did not raise PropertyChanged for a write made through it, so only the control that made the write
ever learned of the new value. Bind a checkbox and a slider to the same property and the slider can never follow the
checkbox. See that package's notes for why, and for what is announced now.
Strictly, this release is not what delivers the fix. The dependency was already a range, and 3.0.1 satisfies it, so a
consumer who upgrades the core package directly gets the fix whether or not they take this. But NuGet resolves the
lowest version a range allows, so a fresh install of 3.0.0 would go on resolving core 3.0.0 and never see it. Moving the
floor is what makes the fixed version the one a consumer gets by default.
3.0.0
BREAKING: three functions are renamed, because their arguments are now in the order the rest of the module uses -
scheduler before comparer. oneWayWithComparerAndScheduler, twoWayWithComparerAndScheduler and
twoWayCSWithComparerAndScheduler become oneWayWithSchedulerAndComparer, twoWayWithSchedulerAndComparer and
twoWayCSWithSchedulerAndComparer, taking their arguments in that order too.
One-way-to-source gains the scheduler variants the other three already had: oneWayToSourceWithScheduler,
oneWayToSourceWithSchedulerAndComparer, oneWayToSourceCSWithScheduler and oneWayToSourceCSWithSchedulerAndComparer. A
scheduler is what identifies the binding thread, so passing one is what lets that bindable's Value throw when it is
touched from another - see SodaFlow.Bindable.ObjectModel.Core.
Otherwise this release moves to SodaFlow.Bindable.ObjectModel.Core 3.x and SodaFlow.FSharp 4.x, and would be a major for
either alone.
Worth reading that package's notes rather than skipping this: Execute now rejects null for every type argument, and
being a behavior change behind an unchanged signature, it is the kind that surfaces at runtime rather than at compile
time.
BREAKING: requires FSharp.Core 11.0.100, where it required 4.5.2. A consumer still on FSharp.Core 4.x cannot take this
release. Nothing in this package's own code turns on anything that changed between those versions - it compiles against
11.0.100 unaltered - but the floor is written into the package, so the requirement is real whether or not the code
exercises it. It moves because the shipping projects and the test projects now compile against one version of
FSharp.Core instead of disagreeing about it.
2.0.0
No code change. This release exists to move a dependency, and is a major version because of what moving it does to a
consumer.
Dependencies between these packages are now declared as ranges bounded at the next major, so NuGet refuses a pairing
which would fail rather than resolving it and leaving the failure until the code runs. This package now requires
SodaFlow.FSharp 3.x and SodaFlow.Bindable.ObjectModel.Core 2.x.
That ceiling is why this is not a minor version. Taking this release obliges a consumer to take those majors as well,
and one who names SodaFlow.FSharp directly, or who uses anything removed there, cannot adopt it without changing their
own code. A version they cannot adopt is not a minor one.
1.0.0
First release.
Exposes an FRP graph to a XAML binding engine, so a view model can hold cells and streams and let WPF or Avalonia bind
to them directly.
Bindable.oneWay cell a read-only observable property Bindable.twoWay cell editsSink the view writes, the graph decides
Bindable.twoWayCS cellSink the same, where the sink is the graph Bindable.oneWayToSource sink initial control state
pushed into the graph Bindable.toBindableAction sink an ICommand carrying no parameter
Bindable.toBindableActionWithValue sink an ICommand carrying its parameter
Each has WithComparer, WithScheduler and WithComparerAndScheduler variants; the command functions take AndIsEnabledCell
to drive enablement from a Cell<bool>. BindableFactory takes an optional IBindingScheduler for injection, which is how a
test substitutes BindingScheduler.Immediate for a real dispatcher.
The binding path is {Binding SomeProperty.Value} - the property name raised on PropertyChanged is always "Value".
A two-way value is optimistic: it shows the write immediately so it does not fight the caret, then reconciles against
the cell once the graph settles, correcting anything the graph normalized or rejected.
Bindables may be constructed on any thread, so a view model needs no knowledge of the binding thread. Every one of them
is IDisposable and holds a weak subscription, so a bindable that becomes unreachable without being disposed is collected
rather than rooted for the lifetime of the sink it observes. Writes never reach a sink from inside a callback.
Depends on SodaFlow.FSharp and SodaFlow.Bindable.ObjectModel.Core, so installing this brings the FRP operations along
with it.
