TCLite is a simple .NET framework for writing and running microtests. Its key features are...

  • Tests are incorporated into executable assemblies, which reference only the framework and the system under test. Only one test assembly is run at a time.
  • A strong focus on use of microtests with the feature set limited to those that are useful for that kind of test.
  • Strong isolation of tests, with a separate instance of the test class created for each test case.
  • Fluent assertions very similar to NUnit's.
  • Test Results are saved in NUnit 3 or NUnit V2 format.
  • The framework targets .NET Standard 2.0. Tests may be run under the .NET Framework 4.61+, .NET Core 2.0+ or .NET 5.0.
  • Tests may be run on Windows, Linux or Mac

TCLite is still under development but I consider it usable at this time. However, features will continue to be added and removed until we reach a stable 1.0 release.
