Known limitations

DICOM technical metadata is not available on .NET Framework 4.7.2. Reading DICOM tags requires the medical-imaging engine, which ships only a .NET 8 build, so Viewer.GetDicomMetadataAsync always returns null and the metadata endpoint answers 501 Not Implemented on this package. Use Doconut.NET8 if you need technical metadata.

DICOM rendering — pages, frames and animation — is fully supported on .NET Framework 4.7.2 and is unaffected.

Doconut is an enterprise-ready document viewer control for .NET, supporting many file formats such as PDF, Office files, CAD formats, images, and more.

Upgrading from 26.8.0 or earlier: version 26.9.0 requires .NET Framework 4.7.2 and brings a new API. Retarget your project to 4.7.2 before updating, and expect compile errors to fix after the update. In projects that use packages.config, the update also removes the DocImage handler from Web.config; register it again as described in the migration guide.
