TMS.NET Maps: Open Beta

Interactive map controls plus mapping services (geocoding, directions, elevation, places, static maps, location, route calculation) for WinForms, WPF, .NET MAUI and Blazor, with one async API across eleven providers: Google Maps, Azure Maps, HERE, Apple MapKit, Mapbox, TomTom, Leaflet, OpenLayers, GeoApify, OpenRouteService and IPStack.

Packages

Each package is a single, self-contained assembly for one UI framework. Install one of them per project. They are mutually exclusive and cannot be combined with each other or with any other TMS.Maps.* package.

Package Use it for
TMS.Maps.WinForms.Trial Windows Forms applications
TMS.Maps.Wpf.Trial WPF applications
TMS.Maps.Maui.Trial .NET MAUI (Android, iOS, Mac Catalyst, Windows)
TMS.Maps.Blazor.Trial Blazor applications

This is a prerelease package, so include --prerelease:

dotnet add package TMS.Maps.Wpf.Trial --prerelease

Requires the .NET 10 SDK. The WPF, WinForms and MAUI (Windows) controls render through WebView2, which is preinstalled on Windows 10/11. On Android, iOS and Mac Catalyst the MAUI control uses the platform's own web view.

1. Get a beta license key

The beta needs a free license key. Request one at https://www.tmssoftware.com/site/tmsdotnetmaps.asp. Without a key, the map shows a "Map unavailable" placeholder and service calls throw TMSLicensingException.

2. Register it once at startup

Call this before any map control or service is created, e.g. in App / Program.cs:

using TMS.Maps.Core.Licensing;

TMSLicensing.RegisterLicense("YOUR-BETA-LICENSE-KEY");

The key is checked offline. While the key is valid, a "TMS .NET Maps BETA — expires …" strip with documentation and feedback links runs along the bottom of the map. Without a key, the map shows a link to request one.

3. Add a map

WPF (xmlns:maps="clr-namespace:TMS.Maps.Wpf;assembly=TMS.Maps.Wpf"):

<maps:MapControl x:Name="Map" Provider="Google" ApiKey="YOUR_PROVIDER_API_KEY"
                 CenterLatitude="37.7749" CenterLongitude="-122.4194" ZoomLevel="12" />

Blazor (@using TMS.Maps.UI.Web and @using TMS.Maps.Core.Models):

<MapControl Provider="Providers.Google" ApiKey="YOUR_PROVIDER_API_KEY"
            CenterLatitude="37.7749" CenterLongitude="-122.4194" ZoomLevel="12"
            Width="100%" Height="600px" />

WinForms (TMS.Maps.WinForms.MapControl) and MAUI (xmlns:maps="clr-namespace:TMS.Maps.Maui;assembly=TMS.Maps.Maui") work the same way. Map providers such as Google or Azure need your own provider API key. Leaflet and OpenLayers need no provider key.

Feedback and support

We want your feedback on the beta: bug reports, missing features, API impressions.
